Transportation Justice Series

Online workshop Saturday, November 14, 10 – 11am

with Rick Longinotti, Co-chair, Campaign for Sustainable Transportation

In 2013 Assemblyman Mark Stone sponsored and Governor Brown signed legislation to allow a bus-only lane on Highway 1. Instead the Regional Transportation Commission plans to run buses in proposed auxiliary lanes.

The proposed auxiliary lanes will not reduce traffic congestion or improve safety, according to the Caltrans EIR. This workshop will examine the backstory behind the push for auxiliary lanes, and why bus-on-shoulder is a better solution for South County commuters.
